Okay, this is late news...but here it is anyway. I'm shortlisted for NUS architecture interview on the 29th.
It doesn't mean anything. It simply means I'm not pro enough to be admitted straight without interview via the aptitude test (like duh?)...and also that I'm not downright lousy till I don't even get the chance to go for an interview. Bearing that in mind, like 100 over (near 200 maybe?) people get an interview, so it's not really an achievement.
>.< I'm so going to blank out.
Anyway, I come to the office today with several plans in mind.
1) I am going to quit this job. Simply cannot stand her anymore. I'll look for some other job, part time perhaps. Maybe start on that business I've always wanted. Do some stuff before school starts (if I have school that is).
2) Since I'm gonna quit...I might heed kh's advice and say some stuff I really think. But it depends. And I'll prolly not be too nasty. It's not really my nature I think, however fiery I might be at times >.<
3) I'll leave early today. Prep for the interview a bit. Must bear in mind I have tutoring tonight too.
But guess what? She's not here. And I'm not going to be here tomorrow. So...I can't quit/say what's on my mind/ask for permission to leave early. Regardly the last point, I'll just do it without permission. Hmm...shall ask Raymond.
...
ok, he doesn't know either. I'll just do it without permission. Sigh, do I tell them I'm going to quit? >.<
Without a job...I need to think about new sources of income. Lots of things that require money. University (if I get in), my cats' sterilization coming 7th, possible business investment, and JAPAN TRIP - the one thing I really really don't wanna compromise on. Yes, no matter what must get enough for Japan rawr.

http://wttf.org/2009/02/14/not-just-normal-staring/Sigh, I haven't blogged in such a long time. As most who knows me well prolly would have guessed...yup, I didn't score that well on A levels. Oh well, I'll do better in uni! And get a scholarship in the second year or something.
Did so much reflection these few days. Nobody would ever realise how much I've changed this few days though. Nope, my OOC-ness this couple of days is not a result of that change. It shall pass. The change is more in my attitude towards life, my plans, my priorities. More like an added drive in my journey ahead. Haha.
But more importantly, I love my friends more than ever now. Don't know how I'd be without them. To all who I threw a tantrum at on Friday or Saturday, sorry.
So anyway, life shall be better! I have my kittens anyway <3

A levels results is
PROBABLY (not sure not certain, i have no inside info, don't hold my word to it) going to be out on the 6th of March. That's exactly one week from now >.<
I'm almost prepared to cry..but considering since non-As are within my expectations since long ago, I'm probably not going to be really really broken down. I might even be able to recover within a day. It'd be good if I can get an A for at least econs though. I love the subject. Just doing an essay outline for my sis last night gave me so much joy..lol. I'd probably hate it if I were to do it at uni level though..Not sure. Thinking of backup plans for when I don't get into architecture, but econs may or may not be it.
Installed this personal financial management software last night. Finally I'm pissed enough by my own lack of financial management ability to actually try to do something about it. It may or may not work, but at least I'm trying and I'll try to make it work. Got to, and there are great incentives for me to. Uni life shall be tough if I can't manage my money properly. Not to mention the much awaited Japan trip may slip out of my plans. The added financial liability by the kittens too...starting to impress upon me I really got to manage. At least my income shall increase gradually. So I get a gentle learning slope on financial management. First month I had only my temp job salary, this coming second month I shall have half the tution income (half goes to agency) on top of my monthly salary. Beginning of April I shall then have my full monthly income of Tution + Salary.
It's always good to lack money when you are trying to manage your money better. LOL. Helps you learn prioritising your consumption.
Starting to go on iknow.co.jp regularly now. That's trying to instill more discipline in myself. The lack of discipline in myself has really done me a lot of harm over the years - JC academics wouldn't be so bad if I didn't slack the four years in RG. While I bucked up slightly in J1, it wasn't quite enough to compensate my four years of negligence in studies. By the time it was J2, it was too late. I suppose I might not have done so badly in that I'm probably not the worse among the JC A levels students in Singapore..but..I could have done a lot better. So anyway, bringing the topic back to iknow.co.jp...Might as well start instilling discipline in the learning of something I like, like Japanese. Lack of discipline was what made me drop out of MOELC in sec 1 anyway.
While I have smart friends...geniuses in fact...and thus I keep telling people that I'm dumb...I know I'm not all that bad bah. Shouldn't let myself continue rotting away like that. Hopefully it's not too late, and coming next Friday won't be a black friday for me. Can you imagine if it's not on 6th but on 13th?? =S
EDIT: P.S. I switch between colemak and qwerty at work now that that I'm actually making the switch pretty fast now. So proud of myself. LOL.

Today's rather fun haha. Went for my first session for this pre-architecture course which nat's cornell interviewer is giving. (though i was terribly late.) today's session was at terminal 3 of the airport. Oh man, so long never been to the airport le. I miss the viewing gallery. Shall go back there soon by myself. But anyway, he's a rather interesting guy, though the lessons are....as queenie put it, more of a he teaches you absorb kind. It's the kinda lesson I haven't had in awhile so I'm not really used to it. I mean 4 years in RG, it's always been rather interactive. RJ too. I mean true, there are some lessons which we found not so interactive, but that's because we took the interactiveness for granted already. If you compare our lessons with say, the neighbourhood primary school...the difference is great. The RJ culture doesn't allow the lessons to have a purely one-way transfer of knowledge anyway. The student always contribute somehow.
Yet the pre-architecture course was a one-way thing. I suppose I should get used to it soon. Haha. Wonders if the NUS architecture is like that.
So anyway, we toured the crown plaza hotel..which was EXTREMELY NICE. I especially love the ballroom's design actually. The moment I stepped in, I loved it. It's the kinda thing I wanna come out with. Though, of course, that would be interior design. I wonder if any architect actually does both the architectural design and the interior design. If it's possible, I really would like to do both. I mean, if Woha does both, such that the two aspects of design complements each other, they probably have a team of both architects and interior designers. So it's highly possible that some of the architects are actually capable of doubling as interior designers no?
Haha, these are just dreams though. I'm still not confident of getting into architecture afterall. The aptitude test and the interviews shall be scary. There are so many better people out there than me. XS
Went to eat dinner and Ben&Jerry with shuyi after lesson (though shuyi had her dinner already). I decided I really really like cheesecake brownie flavour. haha. But each time I eat Ben&Jerry I say the same thing about the flavour I eat each time anyway. =P
Ben & Jerry rocks! <333
ahhhhhhh. can't wait for sat to come. lanning with roger merv aaron and people. lol. and really really shall make time to visit airport soon. LOL. still gotta take up photography too.
AND I NEED TO THINK UP SOMETHING TO MODEL FOR THE PRE-ARCHI COURSE. lol. any ideas people? throw them at me man.

I got my big laptop back. It feels good haha.
Went back to RJ today. It's really something, to see Raffles Institution Junior College everywhere, even in the bookshop. Luckily it's just the price list. The new foolscap hasn't arrived yet. People who want RJ foolscap for souvenir better get them soon. As much as I don't like everything that is happening, I think I'll accept it sooner or later. And anyway, I like the big balloon haha.
And it struck me once again just how much I miss RJ as I walked in. Seriously, I think I have as many keepsake memories in RJ than my 4 years in RG and 6 years in primary school combined. We should create a capsule or something. Something.
And it's really strange to come online to see like all 13 people in my favorites list to be not online. Though that's really due to bad timing. 3 or 4 people still go online these days. But the point is, everyone's either in NS or busy or something.
Not mentioning I'm really missing someone. It's really not the physical absence since we don't get to meet often anyway. But it's more of the idea that we won't get to interact in the coming weeks. Not that it's impossible to interact, but I won't be remembered that's all.
Sometimes I'm so pathetic. haha.
And screwed up.
Back to work tomorrow then. I think this mood of melancholy shall linger awhile. At least it's not PMS. LOL. I really really hate PMSes. They scare even me myself.
I really wish I can go back and crash Jap Club more often sigh.
P.S. I think the usage of the term melancholiness may partially be influenced by my finishing The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya last night. And it was a superb anime! haha.
P.P.S. I really should stop blogging past midnight. It screws up my usage of terms like "last night" and "today".

http://www.theatlantic.com/doc/200806/college/As provided by KH.
Turned out the teachers took the passage from page 3 of the article.
Anyway, flash updates:
I got totally bashed at the IS consultation today. Got to revamp entire essay. And must finish the new essay by this weekend. I feel ultra demoralized. I did try, no matter what they say. It's just that this is beyond my ability. Why oh why did I take this up?
Oh, and I got confirmation that I'm going to fail during the consultation. It's my fault I know. I just cannot bear to show people my work because I feel ashamed of my own standards. I don't show anyone my work usually, regardless of the subject, unless the person is close enough to me. So peer editing didn't work out. I couldn't make myself send the document to her. And now, that reluctance was used against me to show that I made no effort at all. That I did not try.
Anyway, this rant is useless. I got to go back to re-writing it. Despite being told how to restructure it, the act of writing this kind of essay feels foreign to me anyway. I don't know how to write it. I'm just praying with all my heart while I write. Trust me, I am trying. It's just not my thing. RS back in RG was disastrous for me and I had no part in writing the PW report (my group mates know my standard)..I'm not making an excuse for myself when I say I don't know how to write such an essay.

I wish I'm not so tired these days.
Anyway, long time since I last blogged, and so I decided to come online and share this lovely quote.
"I always thought that belated means happy."
And this was from Roger. *applause*
LOL LOL LOL.
J2s seriously have no life.

On a very happy note, I recieved a really really nice pretty wallet from Stacy and Eugene! Yay! Thankies!
(Wah...so fast join finances le arh. LOL. XP)

Oh. And people. I realise how old outdated my j-pop collection is getting. At least a few years old. Start sending me songs, so that I don't have to hunt them down. =P

http://green-poppies.livejournal.com/31383.html#cutid1Nice shoes!
Dance concert last night was really really good. Though I agree that modern dance owns all, but I liked two of the Chinese Dances too. the Jasmine one and I can't remember the second. It was really obvious that they put the better dances in the second half after intermission, but this is the norm for concerts anyway. I like Alone really really much, and I like the last dance as well...BollyHolly I think it was called. Haha.
Talked to Mark yesterday and thought about things a bit. Now I know I had been guilty of succumbing to the rebound effect before. Not recently, but I have. Some time ago. Thus that would mean I'm prone to it again. I think I need to be careful..
Some flowers are really pretty don't you think? Never knew there's a difference between an open red rose and a closed one. A red one means Love, but a red rosebud means "A symbol of purity and loveliness". Interesting. And I find a lot of very very pretty flowers. Like Calla Lilies...I never realised White Tulips are soooo pretty too! Snowdrops too! LOL.
(A lot of the flowers' meanings make good pick up lines actually. Like...you can check up the meaning, get one of the flowers, give it to the girl and tell the girl its meaning. Quite sweet. LOL. For example, Viscaria means "Dance with me". Isn't that cool? LOL.)
I need to know Roger Ong's favorite color. Seriously. Sorry that I forgot.
Ahhh...so sian and random today. I don't want to write essay. boo.

Ahh...without (of a) it would be all Ts!
----------------------
Tomorrow there shall be the dreadful physics SPA Skill A. Probably even with extraordinary help I might just only manage to scrape a pass.
Anyway, happy stuff and sad stuff. I shall try to focus more energy on the happy stuff and spend less time developing negative energies on the sad (or rather troubling stuff). Yet there's only a limited time for me.
And then again, the limited amount of time isn't as I envisioned it to be. Because, I'm still not given a lot of space. But it's still better. I feel as though I'm gaining back a little bit of control. I feel as though I can think better now.
And today I finally got to do stuff that I haven't done in a long time now. That's good. I think.
------------------------------------------
Anyway, there was sharing on the NS life during civics lesson today by 2 J4s. Was quite interesting, though i think a lot of girls ponned. LOL. Our class must have the guaiest girls lah, lol, since I don't think anyone ponned. But then again, perhaps that's because our CT was there? =P
NAPFA five items are alright..but no chance for a gold even if I retest my 2.4km run. ARGH. I am sad. And I hate being in "that time of the month" during NAPFA period. Unless I retest both my 2.4km run and 5 items. All I need to improve on is standing board jump. I mean, 2.4km run I just need to run faster by 2 seconds and I was having stomach cramps some more. And all my other items are alright so far. So shall I? It's the last NAPFA in my entire life afterall...But then, Stacy's right when she says it'll be a waste of time to retest everything..
I shall decide when the time comes bah. Now sleep. I'm tired.

What the hell makes them think that a seventeen or eighteen year old like me can write good research essays, come out with a personal take and end with a refreshing and brand new conclusion. "The essay must be value-adding." What crap. Stupid cambridge. I cannot handle it. Why the hell did I take a subject that requires me to do independent study anyway??? urgh. I donno what the hell I'm doing. Everytime something becomes clearer for a second or two, it becomes blur again. Stupid. I'm bad with research, always have been. Fine, there are pro people. Humanities people prolly can do it really well. Most of the RJ people gonna ace. But I'm just a poor little girl stuck in a school well above her range and I'm gonna fail it. I wonder how the students from other schools manage. AT LEAST THEY DON'T FEEL PATHETIC WITH EVERYONE AROUND THEM BEING BRILLIENT. and there. yet, today i just chided someone for feeling doom. argh. I'm not feeling doom. I'm just saying i'm not up for the task, and never will. I don even think i'm capable of finishing this STUPID RETARDED ESSAY. what was junhan's response when he first heard of my question? "Isn't that something being researched before?" HELL NO. because I don't f***ing have enough materials, yet it's doable. Just that I need to do most of the work MYSELF, inferring here and there. Though I suppose everyone else is doing just that, the nature of their questions. But it would help if my question sounds a bit more impressive instead of giving people the impression that it's a slack question. But NO. and then next thursday I gotta present my ideas to the ENTIRE CSE COHORT, which isn't big anyway, but that's beside the point, and they'll all be thinking how slack the topic is, how it's not original, etc, etc, and i'll feel resentful and all, etc, etc, at the same time not being brilliant like them to take up refreshing topics involving game theory and what not because I already cannot really handle something I'm more familiar with like confucianism. Okay. I got to stop, or this shall go on and on. UGH.aron doiy uaeopfzrst

Fine. I didn't find this. Someone else did while surfing online. But I claim credit to blogging it first haha.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I have lots and lots to say about DramaFeste. But I have no time to blog about it. This is a promise to myself that I will blog about it. I WILL.
My time management sucks. Haiz. Wanted to type newspaper articles as well as do Econs concept map on top of doing the econs and math tutorials. But end up doing none. Oh well, at least I managed to finish the math assignment..and a teeny bit of econs. That's good. Haha.
OH! And I bought a CLEO magazine today! Inside there's one advertisement which inspired me something. Might change blog layout! haha. Years since I last did my own layout..hee~ But that will have to wait till after common tests probably. I still haven done that avatar I said I would do..hmm..
Okie! Sleep!~ Striving not to sleep too late everyday. Managed before 10pm a couple of times even! yay!!! hurray!
Sometimes, I resent being in RJ because guys from RI are all so pro. The proportion of super pro guys to the super pro girls is seriously off balance.
Clarification: I just read Jared's blog again. Ugh. Why is everyone so pro. =(
Anyway, V'dae was ok. I received 4 roses! From Stacy, Eugene(Ho) and Waihan. Chocolates! From Stacy and Yicong. And after school, went DDR with Raphael and Roger. My DDR is hopeless. I failed like 90% of the time at Take 5 the next day. Oh well.
Take 5 on 15th Feb was nice. The main reason why it's better than last year's is probably due to the venue. Nothing can go wrong at a venue like the Pasir Ris Park. But my better experience with Take 5 this year may be because I'm not participating in anything this year..
Oh, and I baked cookies for Take 5. Or rather, tried to. More than half my attempts failed - completely black and burnt. The later half of the attempts succeeded somewhat. They're burnt to various degrees too, but they're edible. At least the people who tried them says that they're nice (somewhat) and they actually survived. Still alive. So yea.
I conclude that cookies are more difficult to bake than chocolate cakes. Baking shall be a new hobby! yay!
It sucks when you are QWERTY-handicapped, you are forced by circumstances to use a mac but there is no autohotkey-equivalent for mac. You end up looking stupid, typing at snails pace, hitting all the wrong keys each time you try to type faster, looking at the keyboard almost all the time (because the moment you look up you type nonsense) - basically, you look like a retard. Can someone please write the program to save me already. Urgh.
Anyway, I'm in the school library, waiting for the mac to finish importing the video of last year's MEP concert. (Royce reminded me of it again last night. Oh how I have been procrastinating. Shame on me.) And I only just realised that we have CNY holidays from tomorrow onwards (yes, retarded-ly slow l am).
(Side-track: I shall treat this as a QWERTY typing practice.)
Today, I realised how I've transformed from being terribly pessimistic to wonderfully optimistic, and then sink back into pessimism for most things. But is that bad? Optimism often brings about greater disappointment than pessimism, so if by cowering under the clock of pessimism you are actually protecting yourself from possible harm, is it actually bad? To avoid disappointment, to prevent yourself from getting hurt again...Those are basic human instincts, to enable survival as we grow into this increasingly brutal world. How often we wish we could go back into the innocent times, when most of us are spared from troubles and worries, harsh realities of achievements-based society, the ugly face of politics in every area of your life (be it workplace, cca, classroom, school, even friends. Even among friends, where you can relax, let yourself go and enjoy yourself...supposedly. Supposedly.) Emotional survival.
CNY! Finally. Yay.
I haven't been blogging since....I don't even remember when. So it's hiatus all the way minus the times when I suddenly feel the urge to blog. For now, some quick updates on me.
- I am like QWERTY handicapped. Ok-speed on colemak, but miserable on QWERTY. And I am typing this on QWERTY.
- CSE proposal ish finished! Though yucky and lousy but if is over. It's the end of the beginning. muahahahaha.
- I seriously need more than 72hours a day. Yup, not 48 hours, but 72 hours.
- I joined Jap Club.
- I am (re-)considering rebonding my hair. The only thing pulling me back, to be serious with myself is some comment somebody made in the beginning of last year. So yup, till that person tells me to rebond it, I probably won't.
- I have math test tomorrow and I am so gonna fail.
Till the next time, it's hiatus.
http://in-factuation.livejournal.com/9570.htmlI am still in love with this. I want antique gold and bling (the two on the right). ahhhh.
Anyway, school's good. Better than I thought. I'll probably retract this statement soon, when I start getting horrible grades for tests and CA. Still, I really love going to school. Towards the end of the holidays, I was already feeling awful. Going back to school cured that, and I'm not sure how. Life felt more purposeful I suppose. And I get to see my friends everyday!
Somehow, the beginning of this year feels a little bit like how my birthday should be. I feel loved. HAHA. The entire world keeps giving me presents. I would take a photo of them, but my stupid handphone is spoiled and my replacement handphone is so lousy that it doesn't have a phone. Mark got me a super cute white Koala from New Zealand, which I decided shall be a guy and named Snowflake. It shall live in my locker everyday, go to class with me, and go back home with me on weekends for baths. yay!!
Shuyi gave me a really really nice wooden bracelet, a cross charm that blinkers in red and blue and a case/pouch! My sister loves the charm, but I am not selling it to her no matter what. haha.
Waihan gave me a handphone strap too (from Philippines)! It's super bulky though, so I'm probably not using it for my handphone (especially not with that lousy yucky handphone I have now). It's really really nice...has all the suites from cards. It looks fitting for a bag charm!!! Hmm...but somehow I get reminded of how lousy I am at bridge each time I look at the charm. haha.
Speaking of which, there's a dumb new rule in school. "No card games at all times." Meaning, no poker, no cards, not even Uno or Old Maid or anything else. Aaron Tan said can play mahjong in school since it's a tile game. LOL. I don't mind. I like mahjong.
With all these presents, I feel loved. But it reminds me of how pathetic my holidays were. I didn't go anywhere at all. I wanna go New Zealand too!!!! haha.
P.S. Sorry CQ...I try try try get the wrap with you by end Jan, early Feb??
**Update: A few minutes ago, I stuck a deal. I can talk about going back to church with mum again, after my first CA. YAY.
I haven't been blogging for so long. Partially due to SDMA, but also coz I don't want to blog.
------
SDMA video was screwed. I won't comment too much on it, since it's the work of all the other members in my group too. But I really really hate our final product. Mr Yeo said that he found it ok, so maybe it's just me. But I totally hate it. I feel regret in fact. It's a one chance thing. If I don't pursue film in the future, it's probably the last production I'll ever be involved in? So I really hate the fact that it's such a slipshod work. To admit the truth, I was kinda hoping for a miracle. That somehow, we'll have something wonderful and marvelous churned out. But it was not meant to be. HAIZ.
Nevertheless, we spent so much effort in this, I gotta be proud. It was a scare earlier on. I thought I wouldn't make it to MOE in time for submission. And took taxi. It turned out that I didn't really have to rush. The officer in-charge for SDMA works only from Monday to Friday, so all submissions today will be placed in the MOE mailbox, which will only get cleared on Monday 9am. Teams reading this...if you missed the time, you can just put it in before 9am Monday and it'll probably get submitted too. Kinda cheating actually, since official dateline is today. haha.
I learnt a lot from the SDMA experience. But I really don't wanna blog it here. Or don't have the courage to. Maybe I'll write in my livejournal...when I'm in the mood.
------
Went to Chuntsen's BBQ last night. It felt kinda weird, since I was the only J1 there. There were 2 people that I didn't know too. But overall it was fun. Cheered me up considerably in fact, since I was feeling rather depressed over SDMA and some other incident. Kangwei went to buy ice and some super cheap wine (10 bucks!) which turned out awful. haha. We had fun throwing ice down kinkit's back though! =P Kinkit kena "iced" the most i think. haha.
I think I'll really miss the seniors when they are gone. Now who am I gonna KACHA when I'm bored in school? haha. But considering next year's A Levels year, I suppose I won't have much time to be bored and roaming around school anymore. haha.
I should probably post something dedicated to the seniors, but that'll wait lah. (GASP. some J2s going NS next week!!!! None of my seniors, not that I know of anyway. That's good. Yay!)
------
I've been rethinking a lot of stuff recently. About how certain trends develop in my life and such. And how I could have avoided the repetition of some of these stuff in my life. I have no discipline...not strong enough a will sometimes to avoid what could have been avoided. I hate myself for that.
Even though I liked myself better this year, overall rating for myself ish still negative. I'm still so far off from being likable.(Raphael's theory does not convince me.)
Every new day shall be better! One day, it'll actually become good. Yesh.
I really want to blog this on the class blog. But somehow I feel kinda shy blogging it there, so outrightly (ok, bad word. But I don't know how to express myself). So I'm writing here, since people don't usually come to read my blog. And when they do, then, well, they read it. It's supposed to be read after all.
If Kaiqi and Victor ever come to this blog (which I doubt they will), what I want to say is that I really feel very grateful towards them. They must be the best welfare reps ever. And I say this with my heart. It doesn't matter that the class fund wasn't split equally for everyone's birthdays. What matters is that you guys gave thought and put in effort into every single person's birthdays. And I think the entire class could see that. We really appreciate you guys for doing all that. In fact, I think among all the other reps, you guys did the most, and the others would most likely agree with me.
I'm really really glad that I didn't rebel against my mum and go poly. Because if I haven't been to RJ, I wouldn't get to know such great people in school. I wouldn't be part of such a great class. There's no other class as inclusive as ours I think. There are times when I hear from friends about their classes (no names mentioned), about how cold their class is. How they don't go for class outings, don't stay back for games, etc. How un-bonded they are. I think, comparatively, we did really well as a class! It's difficult to make 20 over people really bonded as one huge family, the way they do in idol drama series, but I think we got as close as we could to that 'ideal state' le. haha. I've never been able to truly say I love my class. But I'm glad that in JC, I can finally say it. I love 5B! Thanks, everyone in this wonderful class....I shall say unashamedly (since this is my own blog, I don't have to be politically correct). Everyone in class made a difference for me, but this class becomes all the more memorable because of people like Stacy, Eugene, Qiongye, Haoyang....thanks a lot. I'm glad I finally have something to remember by, out of my 6 years of Rafflesian education.
I think, one day I shall compile a list of what I remember each person in class for! haha. X)
