bel canto

Super cool last night and I had a lot of fun! But choir concert's rather dissapointing though..Not as good as last year's. Shan and Perlin keeps saying that it's not all that bad and that I am having standards too high for them. But I have been looking forward to this concert..Guess last year's concert really jacked up the standards and expectations, and they fell below that mark. Oh well..

Reasons why I say it's not as good (as it should be):
- The choice of songs..Blue is so...erm..But I think Shanghai Tang's a good choice. =)))
- The sec 3 busking. OMG, I didn't know our junior choir members are that bad. They can't really sing, with the exception to two of them. Make that three, there's a third that's acceptable.
- The storyline for the musical part of the concert. It feels like it forced to piece together, and it just doesn't make sense. Plus, many scenes were abrupt. And it feels like it's either lack of practise or stage fright. I tend to think it's the first one..lack of practise.

But there are good stuff..
- Sec 4 busking group are SO GOOD. too bad they can't do what they did last year..sing individual solo for a medley of different songs. And their "screentime" was so short. But it's cute and funky!
- There were some movie references and short quips, jokes inserted here and there in the musical.."I smell like vinegar" score A plus. REmember english lessons? The empathsis on 'target audience'...lol.

After the concert, shan, sammie, perlin, germ, and i planned to go home together. But when we passed orchard, shan asked us whether we want to walk around orchard a bit before going home. Since no one objected, we went. Basically just walk around and talk..We did check out Emax though, but due to BUDGET problems, we didn't do anything there, except borrow their tables for a arm wrestling tournament. =P Then we realised the time and started to head towards the mrt..Then, sammie and germ wanted to eat macdonalds..So we spent some more time at the macdonalds at lucky plaza..Before we know it, the last train's leaving soon and we rushed to the mrt station. Luckily, we didn't miss the last train..duh. Can you imagine us taking NR2?? And NR2's only for me and sammie..I don't even know what germ, shan and perlin can take!
