the Forbidden

At Orchard MRT station today on my way home from school, I noticed a pair of girls wearing uniform of a unknown school sitting on the steps of the central staircase, facing each other. They look like ordinary girls, and did nothing extraordinary. Yet, my instinct tells me that they are...That there is something forbidden in our society between them. It's not really how they look, though I admit that I felt that it's very comfortable to see them together. At that point of time, I felt like if I were a photographer, I'd take millions of pictures of them together. Then again, that's not the point. It wasn't how they look, nor how they act, but rather the aura they emanate. I felt strongly attracted to them. Throughout the MRT trip, I couldn't keep my eyes off them. The only thing that made me tear my eyes off them was the fear of them discovering my unwanted attention. The more I observed them, the more I trust my intuition. Every look, every touch, every other form of interaction they had between themselves held deep meanings and affection which most would not have bothered or are unwilling to study and realise what is happening. Because ours is a community which excludes. The Forbidden holds yet even greater attraction for deprived beings of communities like ours, yet fear keeps us away from gaining understanding and acceptance.
I realised that this holds more truth than ever for me. My reaction, or rather attraction, towards the above-mentioned couple is the best prove. I would love, after much self-reflection, take a series of photos of forbidden couples. Even in natural poses which may very well be mistaken for ordinary photos of friends, to me they become confirmation to such love, that such love exist. I'll look deep into their eyes and try feel their every touch.

I may, you know, turn my dream of such a "Forbidden" album into reality. But our society ensures that most would think twice before approaching. Because, for many of them, coming out of the closet would mean a death sentence - a almost guaranteed passport to seclusion from family, many friends, and the society. Maybe I am an oddball, supporting a cause which I am not part of. But this is how the forbidden love makes me feel, and I've got to do something about it.

By the way, this has absolutely nothing to do with *Jeremy*. I never saw her as a girl in the first place anyway. Whatever I have mentioned doesn't apply to her. I don't feel that sense of attraction when I see her with other girls..She's just neither here nor there. But DEFINITELY not girl.

I'm a girl, who's normal most of the time, but weird otherwise. My nickname in primary school was blurqueen, which was upgraded to BBQ Bizzarely Blurqueen in Secondary 2 during Primary 6 class reunion. I have a huge variety of interests, so I end up being very poor in time management.
